Our Story

Animal Protective Services of Marion, Inc. was founded by compassionate individuals who recognized the urgent

need for animal welfare resources in Marion County, TN. Reports of animal neglect and cruelty continue to rise, yet no significant advancements have been made to provide law enforcement with the support they need.

Tennessee’s state laws mandate humane treatment of animals, but no state funding is allocated for enforcement or shelter facilities. Our organization exists to bridge this gap—raising funds and developing a shelter that will serve the county.

Our Officers and Board of Directors are dedicated, knowledgeable, and selfless advocates for animal welfare. We stand for the voiceless—those animals who are neglected, abandoned, or left to roam without food, water, or safety.  Our goal is to raise funds and collaborate with the county government and sheriff's department to build a dedicated facility that will provide animal protective services. This facility will not only support local law enforcement but has the potential to expand into a full-fledged animal shelter that can serve the entire county, helping prevent cruelty and neglect without a burden on our tax paying citizens.

By equipping them with the necessary tools to respond to animal cruelty and neglect cases, we also enhance public safety and promote humane treatment for all animals in Marion County, TN.

 

Our Vision

We strive to create a compassionate community that upholds Tennessee’s animal welfare laws by:
✔ Building an animal shelter to serve as a facility for law enforcement to house animals in need.
✔ Educating citizens about responsible pet ownership, including shelter, containment, and proper medical care.
✔ Providing guidance on compliance with Tennessee’s state animal laws.
✔ Assisting pet and livestock owners with resources to ensure proper care for their animals.
✔ Collaborating with animal welfare organizations to offer spay/neuter services, medical treatment, and adoption programs.
